11月20日（土）　聖公会大学労働運動史研究所を訪問し記念講演をしてきた　[旅] [編集]

　イヤー、運が良かったですねー。古代朝鮮の王宮での衛兵の交代式（王宮守門将交代儀式）を見せていただきました。景福宮前の光化門での出来事です。

　全くの偶然でした。このような儀式があることも知りませんでした。
　光化門はホテルから歩いて５分ほどのところにあります。散歩のついでに立ち寄ろうと近づいたところ、何か音が聞こえます。
　「何だろう」と思って近寄っていったら、韓国時代劇ドラマでおなじみの服装をした一団が列をなして行進しています。これが交代式だと知ったのは、その後に放送があったからです。良いものを見せてもらいました。

　その後、ホテルに戻り、旧知の友人である大仏大学の牟教授を待ちました。今日は、牟さんにエスコートしていただいて、聖公会大学労働運動研究所に行くことになっていたからです。
　午前中はフリーでしたので、近くを散歩してきたというわけです。ここはソウル中心部の少し北側になりますが、観光名所の仁寺洞や昌福宮、景福宮が近くにあります。
　空港へのリムジンバスの発着所を確認したり、これらの観光名所を外から眺めたりしてきました。その途中で、衛兵の交代式に遭遇したというわけです。

　ホテルのロビーで牟さんと落ち合い、昼食をすませてから景福宮へ。牟さんの教え子で李さんという大学院生の女性も一緒です。
　そこから地下鉄に乗って聖公会大学に向かいました。大学はソウルの西端で、仁川との間にあります。
　１時間弱で聖公会大学に到着しました。この大学はキリスト教系のミッション・スクールですが、プロテスタントでもカソリックでもなく、イギリス国教会の流れを汲み、進歩的な色彩の大学だというのが、牟さんの説明でした。

　聖公会大学労働運動史研究所で旧知の李鎮九所長にお会いして所員を紹介され、活動についてお話を伺った後、所内を案内していただきました。引っ越したばかりだということで、荷物はまだ片付いていないようです。
　専任の研究員は李所長だけで、他の方は皆、期限付きの研究員だそうです。身分は不安定で、プロジェクトが終わった後はどうなるか分からないということですから、大変、厳しい状況に置かれていると言えるでしょう。
　大原社会問題研究所も協力してきたオーラルヒストリーの記録を見せていただきました。五〇年代の韓国労働運動についての聞き取りを行った成果が冊子になっており、そのうちの一冊をお土産にいただきました。

　この後、記念講演ということで、15人ほどの方を相手に1時間半の話をしました。思いがけず、講演料までいただき、大いに恐縮したものです。
　講演終了後、近くの典型的な韓国料理店で夕食会を開いていただきました。「古いけれど美味しい店で、テレビでも紹介されたことがあるんですよ」と言われ、壁の方を見たら、私もインタビューを受けたSBSテレビのポスターが貼られていました。
　湯豆腐のような豆腐料理が専門で、店の名前を聞いたら「豆腐料理店」と言うのだそうです。そのままですね。

　李所長の車で駅まで送っていただき、３人で若者が沢山集まるというソウル市内の大学街に行きました。渋谷のような喧噪、浅草のような庶民性、歌舞伎町のような華やかさが入り交じった不思議な空間です。
　牟さんに連れられて、生演奏のお店に入って大音響のバンド演奏を聴いたり、「日式」の料理店でおでんをつまみながらお酒を飲んだりと、得難い体験をしました。1人では、とても来ることはできなかったでしょう。
　現代韓国の若者文化に触れた思いがしたものです。まことに貴重なソウル体験でした。

　さて、いよいよソウル滞在も今日が最終日になりました。明日には、東京に戻ります。
